"Pelican Rainbow" Original Oil Painting by Marcia Nickols

"The pelicans come every spring and they are so fun to watch. They especially like the rocky spots in the water that are not near the land. I usually see them in the harbor while on boat rides.

I used water-based oil paints which are the same as oils but clean with soap and water. I often use the pallet knife and glazing techniques to create more depth. Everything I do leads me to another idea to try. I consider it constantly growing and I love it."
