"The egrets in Door Counrty are found along shores, lakes and streams. Thier long, graceful necks seem to move with such grace as they hunt for fish, frogs, etc.
I made all the background paper from cotton cords, sheets or anything we had that had cotton in it. Other natural handmade papers were added to finish the design as well as found objects. I figured out how to paint watercolors on the paper by coating with pastel ground and gesso. It has been a fun experience to figure out how to make all this work."
