"This was a composition that I created after watching monarchs in my wood orchard outside. I created the design by painting the monarchs on my handmade paper that has been prepared with pastel ground and gesso. It was fun trying to figure out what to do next to make this composition better. in a unique design. The hardest part for me is not to add to much and quit when I am ahead.
I made all the paper from cotton cords, sheets or anything we had that was 100% cotton. Other natural handmade papers are from Egypt and Thailand and used as well as other found objects. I always add wire to complete the natural balances in this world."
