About The Artist:

Terry Lundahl, is a fourth generation native of Door County and in her golden years, has uncovered a previously untapped talent for painting the beautiful and inspiring landscapes of her life-long home. Her imaginative colorful paintings pay homage to the strong belief that “You can create anything once you see it in your mind.”

Described by those who know her well as a whirling-dervish of positive energy, for decades Terry built a career serving the Door County community through various not-for-profit organizations, and program development in integrative health education and other art and performance-related endeavors.  As the world shut down with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic Terry was forced to slow down and found herself with much time for reflection and mindfulness. Surrounding the cabin in the woods that Terry and her husband Paul built themselves back in the ‘80s, she found so much inspiration and beauty, that finally, she had no choice but to let it burst forth onto canvas.

As Terry taught herself to paint at the age of sixty-four, she quickly discovered a knack for translating the whimsical beauty in her mind’s eye into work that was appreciated by the masses.

Collaborating with the new and upcoming gallery The Pearl of Door County (located in the Steel Bridge Arts District of Sturgeon Bay), her work quickly became popular with locals and visitors alike. Terry’s artwork was also purchased by Paramount Pictures to be featured the movie series titled “Joe Pickett. By sharing her work, Terry fulfilled her desire to activate the viewer beyond a passive gaze.

In her artwork, Terry’s distinctive personal style emanates joy, using lots of layering and color while expressing a vibrant spirit. Picturesque landscapes, flowers, and the joy of Door County’s four captivating seasons are brought to life with harmonious colors that contrast the vastness of space and time.

As the artist explains, “I am a storyteller, and I wish for our visitors to come on this visual journey with me to experience the peace and calm that permeate this land we call home.”
