“Just outside of Bailey’s Harbor there is a place called Bjorklunden and it is part of Lawrence University. The grounds there are beautiful with some old Scandinavian buildings, including a beautiful church. My goal was to hike the grounds to find a great view of the lake. I was exhausted and needed a rest when I looked up and found this wonderfully calming spot, which I proceeded to paint and inhale all the calm around me.” - Marcia Nikols

This painting has used glazing to create the depths in the water and sand. The frame has been restored to fit the scene.
