In the “Galaxy Series” portion of these beautiful coasters, in the center you will see a star! This is where the name “Galaxy” came to mind. The Mighty Oak truly was magical!
Jen DuPont is a Door County native, rooted in her love for the arts, who took a circuitous route to being able to truly call herself an artist. After a career in the broadcast television industry, Jen returned to the peninsula in 2007 and became steward of an historic family property and one very Mighty Red Oak tree.
When the tree was struck by lightning in 2021, she transmuted her grief into art therapy, and Mighty Oak 1846 line of beautiful and functional red oak wood products was born. With a vision to spread the story of the strength and resilience of this mother tree globally, Jen hopes to touch people's hearts and give them a little something special to forever connect them to the spirit and magic of the Door County we all know and love.
