Storytelling Workshop: Making It Personal
MAKING IT PERSONAL...Storytelling Workshop with Terry Lundahl
How does telling our stories benefit us? We need to know and express our own stories. Telling our stories is not an end in itself, but an attempt to release ourselves from them, to evolve and grow beyond them.
When telling a personal story, how do we recall and then convey the details hidden in our past?
WHEN: Tuesday, November 12th@ 6p
WHERE: The Pearl of Door County
FACILITATED BY: Terry Lundahl
LEVEL: All levels
In this workshop we will discuss storytelling fundamentals, choose a personal story to tell and finally share our stories with the group. We will look at storyteller tools such as creating imagery, structuring a narrative, using humor and adding dialogue. We will look at elements that transform an experience into a story, especially “the invitation” where we begin to develop trust and enter into a conversation with our audience. We’ll then work through writing and verbal exercises and make decisions about the story we’ve decided to tell. At the end of the class we will perform our stories for each other.
