“The Sand Hill Crane has been living in the Ellison Bay area. The colors were the first thing I noticed. The purples and reds contrasting with the greens and yellows set my mind going places.
I made all the background paper from cotton cords, sheets, or anything we had that was 100% cotton. Other natural hand made papers from Egypt and Thailand were used as well as other found objects. The crane is painted with gouache watercolor on a ground surface.”
